 Name: Haldir Race: Elf (Sindar) Actor: Craig Parker Appears in: FotR, TTT Movie Bio: 1. FotR: Haldir is one of the Lothlórien sentinels who guard the Realm of the Lady of Light. Along with his brothers Rúmil and Orophin, he bars the entrance of the Fellowship into Caras Galadhon. However, after some persuasion from Legolas (son of King Thranduil) and Aragorn (well-known to them), he finally concedes and guides the travelers to the presence of Galadriel and Celeborn, on a flet in Caras Galadhon. 2. TTT: During the Battle of Helm’s Deep, when Hope seems about to fade for Men, Haldir arrives in Rohan as the Captain of a strong well-trained Elven army sent by Elrond of Rivendell. This action gives the Rohirrim a new-found faith in their victory, through they are seriously outnumbered by the attacking Isengard Uruk-hai. In the heat of battle, Haldir is wounded by a Uruk blade, and dies a Hero’s death in Aragorn’s arms, as he looks over the fallen bodies of his kin.
