 Name: Otho Sackville-Baggins Race: Hobbit Actor: Peter Corrigan Appears in: FotR (Extended Edition) Movie Bio: Otho Sackville-Baggins is one of Bilbo Baggins’s less-loved relatives. Which is quite understandable, since his (and his wife, Lobelia’s) great desire is to own Bilbo’s Hobbit Hole – "Bag End". As JRR Tolkien explains in The Fellowship of the Ring: Otho would have been Bilbo's heir, but for the adoption of Frodo. Unfortunately for the Sackvilles, Frodo was adopted... and Bilbo, anyway, just refuses to age or die, having lived unnaturally long already! In the Extended Edition, Otho cameos briefly at the Birthday Party - in the company of Lobelia – much to Bilbo’s chagrin. The latter, in fact, goes out of his way to avoid being seen by the couple. In the books, Otho dies in the period of time between the Long-Expected Party, and the start of the adventure proper. Therefore, it is unlikely that Otho will make an appearance in RotK.
