The Sadness of Galadriel

by arwen88
Her people go,
Leaving the Middle Earth shore,
So much sadness comes in seeing them disappear, so much woe,
She sees her people leave, through Gray Havens, or through war,
So much sadness, so much death, nothing can be done,
It has gone too far.
She cannot leave yet, through wish she may,
Some tasks are yet unfulfilled,
So she may only watch as her people wither away,
She may only watch as her people are killed.
The Galadrim haven of Lothlorien, laurelindorinan,
Will see no other spring,
For come has the War of the Ring,
Though Ringbearer may complete his task,
Their sweet Forest will die away,
There will be no other spring.
And so the winter comes,
In land and in time of the elves,
They depart, saddened they are to leave their dear Middle Earth,
The land where they have seen so much birth,
But they leave, never to see their sweet shores again.
Daughter dead, granddaughter Arwen staying behind,
For hope of future, for love of a mortal man,
She cannot part from this land,
One more kindred of Galadriel lost to the grips of time.
Her shoulders are heavy with woe,
She must watch her people pass,
Till her task completed,
She must watch her people go.
