Arwen Mírë Eldaréva

Mor i vilyar lóar.
Telperin eleni silar.
Vána nar li eleni
Ve únantë vána
Undómiel Eldaréva.
Elrondiello nárë.

Ve mor lómë kalar
An mor finiryo.
Hísimë untúpa
Ninque tellumar
Yassen tintilar i eleni
Ómaryo airetári-lírinen.

Ómarya ná
Ve lissi tindomerel.
Elessaro vanimelda nárë.
"Mel hiruvalmet"
Quettaro.
"Arwen le melluvanyë oialë!"

Ai lissi ná mel
Ve Arien tíra
Ázérya kala
Halla aldaron
Lai lassiéssë.
Ai lissi ar dim ná mel!

Oi úquelluva mel tello.
Valimar eglë Arwen
Ar né fir.
Ai! an me ná lissi ar dim.
Ai! an Elessar ar Undómiel!
I Elen lantë mérinen i Sarn.

Elessaro i vanimelda
Ve né calima elda.
Ai! an lintë yéni avánier.
Undómiel avánië sí.
Vánaryo ná vanwa sí.
Ilyë avániéntë...

Arwen, The Jewel of the Eldar

The skies grow dark.
The stars shine like silver.
The many stars are beautiful;
But they are not as fair
As the Evenstar of the Eldar.
She is the daughter of Elrond.

Her long, black hair
Shimmers like the dark night.
Mist covers
The white domes
Wherein the stars tremble
In the song of her voice, holy and queenly.

Her voice is
Sweet as a nightingale’s.
She is the love of Elessar.
"We will find love,"
He says.
"Arwen, I will love you everlastingly!"

Ah, love is sweet
Like Arien gazing,
Her sunlight shining,
On the green leaves
Of the tall trees.
Alas! love is bittersweet!

Their love shall never fade:
Arwen forsook Valimar
And became a mortal.
Alas! for love is bittersweet.
Alas for Elessar and Undómiel!
The Stone fell in love with the Star...

The fair love of Elessar
Was like the light of the stars.
Alas! for swift years have passed away.
Now Evenstar has passed away.
Her beauty is now lost.
They all have passed away...
