Far from Me

by Shalemni

Many days and many nights
Counted beneath moon and starlight
Filtering through the boughs
Of the great trees swaying
In the breeze that can only mean
You are far from me
Beyond the winding trails of paradise to the open sea
Where those great ships
Gleaming white, like swans, float
Upon the briny waters
Pristine and silvered
Like pearls
Lapping, splashing and falling
Jeweled foam and spray
Sparkling and radiant
Guiding you far from the shores of heaven
Where I wait beneath the stars shining high
