BEST. FANFIC. EVER.... The Tale of Namariarwen, Renyarwen, Opaline, Jéowyn & Delphaen

This is the greatest and best fanfic ever written.

It will be written by Xyla, Jgirl, Renyara, Mylla and Delphine.

It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you appreciate the finer things in life.

This is our story.

************************************************** ************************************************** **888

Namariarwen sighed softly as she gazed up at the glittering heavens reflected in her own midnight blue eyes. Slender moonbeams fell upon her radiant hair, shining both gold and silver, reminiscent of the two holy trees of Valinor.
Although she was the daughter of Fëanor, on this brilliant starry night her fiery spirit was quelled by the cold hand of rejection.
Across the courtyard, ARagorn was blissfully unaware of the longing gaze she bestowed upon him.

"What troubles you oh sister of spirit?"
Renyarwen sank lightly beside Namariarwen and placed her smooth milky white hand on her Namariarwens robed shoulder.
"Is it Aragorn, your true love and soulmate that grieves you so?"

"Aye me, Indeed it is most beloved friend," replied Namariarwen "For even yet he does not notice my love, he acts as if he barely noticed my presence"
She sighed again.

"I know your pain too well Namariarwen, for I too know the bitter sting of cupid's arrow gone awry"
Renyarwen's perfect ruby red lips formed a slight frown which she tried ineffectually to hide from Namariarwen.

"You?" gasped Namariarwen in horrified surprise, "but you are betrothed to none other than the fair Glorfindel? No wiser, braver elf there is in Rivendell save our adopted father Elrond alone!"

"THis is I KNOW" cried Renyarwen in exasperated sorrow, 'but my heart is given unto another..." she admitted, her eyes downcast to avoid the shocked yet curious glint that sparkled in Namariarwens starlit eyes.

"You MUST tell me whom!" spake Namariarwen, trying to use her mystical powers of persuasion to coax an answer from her friend.

Renyarwen laughed, the sound falling onto the quiet courtyard like a rippling stream.
"Use not your powers on me sister-friend. You have no need, i will tell you of my free will..." she shifted uncomfortably on the luxurious marble bench before leaning towards Namariarwen, with a gentle stroke of her hand brushing her silky flaxen hair from her smooth and femininely angular face and whispering "It is Legolas who holds my heart".

Namariarwen's heart skipped a beat as she took in this most enthralling of news. A look of wonder and bemusement crept onto her entrancingly beautiful face. It was any wonder that any male, man or elf could withstand her charms, yet Namariarwen was alone, for the man she loved was twixt by some curse of which she knew not....

Renyarwen sighed, she was no stranger to heartbreak or betrayal. She had always been on the outside, always alone, none showed the compassion she gave to others save Namariarwen. She was abandoned as a baby, taken in by the elf lord Elrond who had raised her as his own. None knew of her true parentage, not even Renyarwen herself.

"Have you not told our adoptive father of this?" Namariarwen asked, her eyes moving from Aragorn's masculine form to Renyarwens deep indigo eyes.

"I could never." Renyarwen cried desperately. "Not only would I be defying his wishes, I would be neglecting my duty." A light wind blew through the trees, making Renyarwen's dark hair dance in the moolight's beams so that it glowed the deep indigo colour that matched her eyes.

"Your first duty is to your heart." Namariarwen said gently. "For how else can one live if they are not being true to their heart. Sister of spirit you must speak the longings of your soul." A single silver tear slide down Renyarwen's delicate, yet beautiful porecelin white face.

"I have told Lord Glorfindel." Namariarwen's lips formed a slight 'o'. "Yet he will not listen, he demands that I love him, he tells me that I must forget the childish, foolish longings of my heart. He belives it is he who I truly love."

"Why must the opposite of our sex be so foolish when it comes to matters of the heart? Why can that not see what is so clear?" Namariarwen demanded to the heavens above. Renyarwen rose to Namariarwens level and outstreached her arm so that her palm faced away from them. The small wind that had been blowing, suddenly grew in intensity. Namariarwen looked to where the wind was concentrated, Aragorn had been knocked off balance. Quickly he rose from the ground looking towards the spot in which the two beauties stood. His eyes met Namariarwens and they lingered a while.

"Do not yet lose hope sister of spirit." Renyarwen whispered softly. Hope glittered in the stary gaze of Namariarwen, yet Renyarwen's attention was no longer solely on her beloved friend. It was centered on a balacony not far from where they stood and the lone figured that was glaring down upon them. Yet niether of them could be ready for the deceptiveness this lone figure had in store. None could guess at the horrific outcome that this elf was devising.

This humble hobbit maiden agrees whole-heartedly with the above statement. If this fair tale is not updated soon, I shall shed bitter tears indeed, aye, and beg thee most pitifully for more. (So get moving, girls! Is J-Girl up next? Eru, I hope so...)

Meanwhile, across the courtyard, two young elves surveyed the scene before them.

"A most strange and yet enchanting pair" commented the first, a tall, lithe yet strong elf with shimmering azure eyes, "who are they?"

"Know you not?" replied the other "They are the adopted daughters of Lord Elrond, the maiden on the right is Namariarwen. She arrived by sea one clear dawn only 70 years ago."

"By sea?" exclaimed the golden haired elf.

"Yes, from the undying lands. It is said that she came from an illicit union between Fëanor and Celebrian, Elrond's own departed wife," confided the other.

"And yet Lord Elrond has taken in the child as his own?" the foriegn elf was filled with shock and awe at the very thought of such selflessness.

"Indeed, it is said he loved her as one of his own as soon as he saw her, but it is also said that having come from Valinor with such unusual parentage that she has unusual gifts as well, and her ring, the one that shines on her slender finger like a star placed there by Elbereth herself... it is said to be the fabled fourth elvish ring of power."

"It cannot be!"

"Stranger things have been seen here at Rivendell dear Legolas, strange things like Elves, dwarves, men and hobbits all converging here for some secret purpose" teased Elrandir.

Legolas cast a side-long smile at his friend but refused to divulge any details of his business in Rivendell. Meanwhile his eyes were ever drawn to the even stranger beauty sitting beside Namariarwen, the maiden whose beauty and colouring were unlike any other he had seen in the thousands of years he had walked the earth... fairness tinged with sadness, longing and a hidden depth of mysterious power dwelt in that slender graceful form.

"Come," beckoned Elrandir, "You are wanted at the feast tonight, along with all the other travellers that have arrived today at the Last Homely House."

"I saw Mithrandir has come, and Aragorn with him," remarked Legolas, his eyes still trained on the two maidens conversing on the other side of the courtyard. To his astonished amazement he saw the Raven haired beauty extend her hand and at the same time a perilous gust of wind blew through the courtyard, dying down as she gently drew back her perfectly manicured hand. "What strange power dwells within this girl, that she can control the weather itself?" he uttered in an awed whisper.

"Come Legolas!" Elrandir had reached the doors of the Hall of Fire "THe food is on the board and music plays. Forget whatever it is that troubles you, if not for one night!"

"By and by I come" he called back, his eyes inadvertantly drifting once again to the creamy marble bench, but to his horror the maidens had disappeared. He scanned the courtyard quickly, but there was not a sign of either girl.

"You will miss out on the merriment my friend!" cried Elrandir with increasing impatience

"By and by I come" he replied once again, and regretfully dragged himself to the glowing room.

Meanwhile, a storm was brewing over the Misty Mountains. The air was still and the threatening sky crackled with tension.

In a glade on the side of a mountain, a squirrel was making its way home. A flash of lightening followed by an immediate crash of thunder sent the squirrel chattering into a hollow log. It emerged cautiously a few moments later to continue its journey, pausing at the foot of a large oak tree, where something was different. A human shaped figure was lying there, curled up on the grass, a figure the squirrel had not seen there a moment ago. The squirrel crept closer. From the little it could see of the face pressed to the grass, it appeared to be a girl, with thick red hair, and yet it wore trousers, made from a strange dark material.

The squirrel hurried home. This was not the first strange event recently to have disquieted the animals of the Misty Mountains. Something was approaching... an era was drawing to a close... the animals could sense it.

Another loud thunderclap seemed to jerk the figure under the oak tree out of slumber. The girl raised herself up onto her elbows, her head heavy and aching. She remained like this, holding her head in both hands, then with an effort, rose to a sitting position. Her countenance showed incomprehension as she blinked around at the forest glade. She rose to her feet, utter confusion etched into her face as she took a few shaky steps forward, gazing around her.

The girl stopped and remained quite motionless for a moment, then began to run, out of the glade and up, up the slope of the mountain, the rumbling of thunder around her. She reached a rocky shelf above the tree level and clambered onto it.

She gazed out over stretches of forest, streams and rivers, more mountains in the distance - a land completely unfamiliar to her. And as the rain began to fall it mingled with the tears on her face, as she dropped to her knees, unheeding of the rough rock beneath her.

Once convinced that the elven prince had departed into the banquet hall, Renyarwen stepped from the shadows and released her tender hold on Namariarwen.

"Sister-friend, what need for that was there?" hissed Namariarwen and she smoothed her dress, that perfectly accentuated her perfect figure.

"I felt his eyes upon me." Whispered Renyarwen, her beautiful face full of distress.

"Lord Glorfindel?" Namariarwen asked.

"Prince Legolas." Replied Renyarwen. Namariarewn studied her beloved friend's face intently. Never had she seen such melancholy in Renyarwens disposition. Her deeply intemse eyes which had always shone with happiness, now were overcome with sadness.

"You must go to him and reaquint yourself. We are both expected at the feast. I'm sure a small chance in fortune will allow you to be alone with him."

"I dare not. For I would never make myself seem overly familiar with him. I would not risk the jealous rage of Lord Glorfindel." Renyarwen said fearfully. "Who knows what evils he may bestow upon my most beloved of all the elves that I have ever loved. The jewel in my eye, the one that makes my heart sing. How could I ever risk him harm. No I must be strong, I must put his saftey before the selfish wants of my heart." The two adoptive sisters embraced.

"Come." said Namariarwen. "We must make our appearance." She gently took Renyarwens hand in her own and they walked slowly toward the banquet hall. The bright glowing light of the many candles filled their eyes as they stepped inside. Renyarwen's indigo eyes immediately changed to violet, her hair and dressed changed an instant later. The great hall which had been boisterous with jubilation had now fallen into a hushed awe. Before them stood two of the most beautiful creatures that had ever walked middle earth. The men amongst the crowd fainted at their beauty all in the room swooned at their beauty. From her vantage point Renyarwen could spot the short squat forms of dawarves and hobbits. She let her eyes linger on a small group of humans, two were clothed in clothing from Gondor. The woman was unspeakably beautiful and the man ruggedly handsome. His blue eyes shone with strength and bravery, his form the image of perfection. Suddenly Renyarwen's body stiffened as she felt a familar hand grasped her waist.

"My love." Glorfindel whispered into her ear.

"My lord." Renyarwen replied curtly. "If you would excuse me I must preform my duties as hostess." She turned and went to pull away but the strength of his muscular arms overcame her.

"You will love me." He hissed. "YOu would be nothing if it weren't for me. Never forget that you owe me." He relinquished his hold and Renyarwen made quick her escape, yet in her haste she kept not her eyes on the path in front of her and bumped into an elf. Renyarwen's breath caught in her throat as her eyes moved up the toned yet slender and handsome form in front of her. Suddenly her violet eyes were staring into the light azure soulful, deep blue eyes on Prince Legolas.

"I do not believe that we have been introduced." He said lightly. His voice so silken and smooth that it sounded like music to Renyarwen's ears. Her face contorted into an unrecogniseable expression yet it lost none of her beauty.

"Sorry." Renyarwen gasped as she moved back through the crowd of elves desperately searching for Namariarwen. She found her talking with Gandalf.

"Renyarwen, what troubles you so deeply?" Namariarwen asked upon seeing the distress on her friends face.

"He remebers me not." Shock formed on Namariarwens face.

"It can not be."

The beautiful woman who had arrived garbed in the regality of Gondor sat holding a silver goblet filled with good wine. Her hands were long, white, soft and incredibly beautiful, with long, perfect nails, so strong that they withheld against a lifestyle of riding and swordswomanship and archery. Her hands, too, were unlined, as though she used them but a little, which was anything but the case, for she was an industrious maiden and was never happier than when she was at work.

She raised the engraved, heavy silver goblet to her lips, but she was barely aware of the taste of refreshing wine at her shell pink lips. For her mind was wholly bent towards the strapping, burly man standing at her side. To her great sadness, he did not return her attentions. He was not by nature a lively person, but he knew what was expected of him as a guest in a great house; and there was no sign of effort in his face, words or manner as he held forth in lively conversation and laughter with those that were naturally drawn toward him.

But the beautiful, regal Gondorian woman was in no mood for laughter or conversing. She was a sight to behold, sitting very straight and regal in her high-backed, carved chair.

Her hair was the colour of creamed honey, and was parted in the middle and rippled down past her shoulders and nearly to her knees. It had never been cut. Set against this, she wore a circlet of pearls and gold intertwined on her regal head.

Her dress was dark green velvet, plain but elegant, and at her slender waist she wore a jeweled girdle of rubies and sapphires. Her eyes were like spilled treacle, darker than her hair, and they sparkled in sunlight or candlelight. Her cheeks usually held a faint healthy pink glow, but as she sat there with the goblet cold at her lips, she was so white that one strange Elf remarked to another that the Gondorian beauty appeared as one about to sink down into a swoon.

Thus the beautiful Namariarwen and her equally fair sister of spirit, Renyarwen, glimpsed a maid that few had seen before... Jeowyn, ward of Denethor II, Steward of Gondor.

She had arrived with Boromir, heir to the Stewardship of Gondor, in answer to Elrond's summon to discuss a most serious and urgent matter. But Jeowyn considered it a far more urgent and serious matter that she was enamoured of the Lord Boromir, but he could not return passion for passion.

Indeed the journey to Rivendell had been almost painful for her, with her heart full of unrequited love beating as though it would leap out of her passionate woman's breast nearly the whole duration of the arduous journey. At first they had ridden on the same horse, he riding tall and confident in the saddle, good-humoured, with the sun glinting in his hair and a soft breeze rustling his regal clothes. And she had ridden behind him, clasping him tightly more from love and desire than from fear, for she was a highly skilled horsemistress who had no fear for even the wildest of horses. Indeed, since childhood, she had seemed to hold the gift for pacifying the wildest of creatures; she was a true child of nature and all of Eru's creatures were her friends.

And then the horse had been lost; they had walked the rest of the journey. He had been brooding, but gentlemanly, grasping her hand to assist her in the difficult terrain and, one joyous time, carrying her in his arms through a perilously swollen river, the water slapping at his waist.

But once they had arrived at Rivendell, their cameraderie had disappeared. She was instructed to entrust her sword to him and amend her behaviour to that fitting a well-brought-up noblewoman. Boromir had introduced her as his adopted sister, something not quite true (she had never been legally adopted), and which hurt her immensely. For truthfully it must be said that Boromir did not love her; Boromir loved to fight and to ride and to serve his country, but no woman could ever tame his wild heart.

In the book, Glorfindel meets up with Frodo et al on the road to Rivendell *cough*scenestealingelfprincessArwen*cough* and lends him his horse, saving his life. He's a long-standing pal of Elrond, Aragorn and all that crowd. Quite a nice chap.

"Indeed it is so." Renyarwen said struggling not to burst into tears. "He has just said to me that he has no memory of me."

"Sister of spirit it cannot be so, your love for him is so deep. He must be entranced by some foul curse." Namariarwen rationalised.

"Who would do such a thing? Our love was kept secret, none knew of it for it was forbidden. The relations between us were carried out in secret. No sister of spirit he loves me not." Renyarwen whispered as she pulled Namariarwen away from Gandalf.

"Fear not, my most beloved of friends. I will speak to the fair and beautiful prince of Mirkwood. I will soon know of his hearts desires." Namariarwen comforted.

"I can no longer find comfort in such festivities. I will retire for the evening, please pass on my apologies to our adoptive father." Renyarwen sprinted from the hall before Namariarwen could speak. She ran to the furthest place from the hall a small clearing not far from the place that the Council of Elrond was to take place at the next day.

"Leaving so soon." Glorfindel's voice filled her ears. Renyarwen turned to face him tears streaming from her face.

"Please do not taunt me now, you have my body, why must you take my soul and spirit?" Renyarwen was now pleading with him.

"You will see one day that I love you."

"You do not love me." Renyarwen spat. She was angry with herself for loving Legolas so deeply when he did not return her affections. Was she that big a fool that she had confused his lustings for love. Was she that insignificant to him that he could not now even recognise her face. Glorfindel moved so that he now held her tightly by the shoulders.

"I do, you just will not see it." He said dejectedly.

"Let me go." She whispered softly.

"There is love for me in your heart I see it. Who else is there to love you? The elf prince knows you not." Renyarwen's eyes lifted to Glorfindel.

"Perhaps you are right." Renyarwen's voice was suddenly hollow. "You have given me everything, am I that selfish that I can give you no love." A triumphant smile passed across Glorindel's face.

"See how much better you feel, now that you are listening to your heart." He said gently. Renyarwen's eyes were now glazed over as though she were in a daze.

"Better." She repeated after him.

The power of words

OK then I feel that I will stand up and be the first to admit that even in this embryonic state, this story has changed my life.

You see my friends I had a very serious problem, I thought badly of one of my fellow men. That man's name is Peter Jackson.

After watching FOTR I was at first dismayed, then critical, and finally openly angry that Glorfindel had been userped from his rightfull role. This feeling stayed with me over the months and festered poisioning my very soul.

It finaly came to a terrible conclusion when at a resturant I often visit I attacked a poor cloakroom attendant when she held out my trenchcoat and said "If you want it come and claim it"

But now as I see the true persona of Glofindel, I can at last forgive Peter and say "Glorfy IS a bastard, Pete you were right to spare us his apperance, thank you"

And girls thank you for you have started the slow healing process that will bring me back to an even mental keel. It is a debt I will never be able to repay.

Namariarwen was left speechless and alone as Renyarwen fled the warm, firelit hall. As she tried to regain her bearings, she felt a familiar hand upon her arm, and the velvety tones of a warm familiar voice fell gently upon her delicate ears,
"Where runs Renyarwen? Will she not stay for the festivities?" enquired Elrond.
"Father!" gasped the shocked Namariarwen "She... she was overwhelmed by the grandeur of the occasion.. you know how delicate she is... she needed to lie down, for some time."
Namariarwen's eyes were downcast as she mumbled the lie to her adopted father.
Elronds warm velvety hand gently caressed her face as his eyes met hers. "You're lying to me Namariarwen" he gently reprimanded her, "You should know better than to lie, your body abhors the untruth, and your falsehood is exposed before it even crosses your lips"
Namariarwens head hung in shame, but Elrond smiled at her. "WHatever reason your sister had for departing in such a hurry, i'm sure it was a good one. You need not tell me if you do not so wish, my child... come, the table is set, let us eat."

Namariarwen took her place at the head table beside Elrond and surveyed the strange gathering in the hall that night. Besides her usual kin of Rivendell there were other elves from the forests of Mirkwood in their dusky green robes, men, dwarves, and even the strange hobbits, rarely seen in Rivendell but for old Bilbo.
and then there was Aragorn.
He sat beside her, an image of rugged, manly perfection. Namariarwen was too scared to even breathe deeply enough as to attract his attention, but still she surveyed him as much as she could from the corner of her eye.
He was worn from travel, and it seemed that a great worry or heaviness was upon him, but still there was that deepness to his deep grey eyes, that gentle strength and warm kindness within a strong and strikingly handsome body.

Her efforts were needless, as Aragorn heeded her not. He was instead engaged in a lively conversation with Elladan who was seated beside him, and heard not the sweet, sad sigh from the golden haired beauty beside him.

WIth great effort Namariarwen tore her eyes away from him and engaged in a half-hearted conversation with her adopted father.
"Elves, dwarves, men and hobbits. What is the meaning of this father? Why have these people come to Rivendell"

Elrond continued to stare across the hall, his eyebrows furrowed with the great burden that was upon his noble mind.
"Troubled times approach my child, ... an evil is rising in the east"
Elrond turned and saw the look of horrified shock on Namariarwen's sweet peach-bright face and he quickly added "But it is not a good topic of conversation for a night of festivities. There will be time enough for us to talk of this tomorrow. I am holding a council tomorrow. I want you and Renyarwen to attend. This is a matter that may affect you both."

Narmariarwen nodded silently, and then sank back into her chair, Elronds dark forboding words echoing around her head.

At that moment Elrond rose and addressed the gathering.
"My friends, i welcome you all to Rivendell, I trust that you will enjoy your time here and the feast at hand tonight. I am also very pleased to announce to my kindred and friends that a great weight has been lifted from my mind this night. My daughter Arwen has informed me that she intends to return to Valinor with the next leaving party, to be reunited with her mother."

Namariarwen and the general assembly gasped. After the initial shock some smiled and congratulated Arwen, others gathered around her and began crying about how much they would miss her, Namariarwen's eyes were trained on Aragorn.
He betrayed no emotion, just looked about the hall briefly... for one golden moment, his warm eyes met her own and she basked in his velvety gaze, but then he was talking to Elladan again as if nothing had happened.

It had been some years since the relationship between Arwen and Aragorn had ended, but there was still an icy tension between them. Some said Arwen still loved him, and had sworn to let no other have him, but that mattered not now, for she was leaving, she was going back to Valinor.

Or was she?

Ladies, I would just like to say that this, without a doubt, is the finest variation on Tolkien's great work that I have ever had the pleasure to read. The scenes are set with methodical care and the characters are believable to the point where one wouldn't be astonished to find out that the tale related here had actually happened.

I think I smell a Pulitzer....maybe even a Nobel?

WHat can i say, We live to serve.

I like to think of our work as a REVISED edition of LOTR. It's what Tolkien would have intended had he not been crushed by the tragically paradoxical patriarchal overtones of the society of his era.

It's a tragic tragedy that we wish to revoke by invoking the strong, down to earth, and most importantly, believable characters that were missing from the First Edition.

Renyarwen and Glorfindel re-entered the hall unnoticed by all excluding Legolas and Namariarwen. Legolas had become entranced by Renyarwen's beauty, it was as though he could not banish her form from his mind. Yet there was something else, a feeling, one that he thought he had felt before, but was sure that he had not.

Renyarwen sat beside Glorfindel, she felt numb, as though she had just given up a great battle, she watched him a while. It was true that she loved him, yet her love for him would be no more than that a sister gives to her brother.

"Renyarwen." Her thoughts were broken by the soft velvety, musical voice of Legolas.

"Prince Legolas." Renyarwen searched his face for some recognition, something that showed he too remembered the past and love that they had once shared.

"I thought that we may take some time to know each other better." Renyarwen's heart sank, no expression crossed her face it remained blank.

"I would like that." She said carefully so as not to display any hint of emotion.

"Perhaps I could join you. " Glorfindel said. Disappointment flickered through Renyarwen's eyes, but as quickly as it had been there it disappeared.

"Of course Glorfindel." Legolas said warmly, though he had not wanted the elf lord to join in.

"I have just remembered that I must speak with father, I'm sure we can accquint ourselves later Legolas." Renyarwen said apologetically. "I'm sure Lord Glorfindel would prove a more entertaining accquaintance than I." Hurriedly she left her seat and moved to Elrond's side.

"Renyarwen, I was concerned with your rather sudden disappearence, does something trouble you child?" Elrond asked.

"Aye, I simply let my emotions run away with themselves, you need not worry yourself father. Lord Glorfindel has seen to my well being." Renyarwen said, her voice eerily absent of emotion. Elrond nodded, but did not believe her. He wished that she would find it in her heart to confide in him. Renyarwen gave him a small smile and moved to Namariarwen's side.

"That child has conflict deep within her soul."

"Indeed she does Gandalf." Elrond agreed. "Perhaps keeping her here has been wrong. She needs to find her place in this world."

"Perhaps it is more than her place that she needs to find."

Ok, this is the first time I've popped into this thread and now I'm asking myself, "Self, what's wrong with you? Why didn't you come here earlier?" This is excellent work. I'm looking forward to the next installment!!

The early morning sun crept gently through the window, its warm gentle beams falling lovingly on the pale slip of a maiden lying on her soft, warm bed.
Namariarwen felt the warmth on her face and was instantly awake.
She always woke at dawn.
She gently bathed and dressed herself before she was startled by a gentle knocking on the door.

"Elen sila lumenn mae govannen elbereth?" asked the sweet voice

"I would love some breakfast Elennira, please come in" replied Namariarwen, gently opening the beautifully ornate and richly decorated mithril inlaid doors.

The sweet Elven maid gently handed Namariarwen a platter of the finest fruits of middle earth and a crystal carafe of juice of the finest fruits of middle earth.

"You are summoned to a council this morning my lady" spake Elennira gently.

"Ah yes," sighed Namariarwen "I had forgotten..." her pearlescent skin flushed slightly as she asked "Will Lord Aragorn be attending the council?"

"Why of course my lady Namariarwen, Why do you ask?"

"No reason" she hastily replied before casting a critical eye at the robes she had chosen,
"Tell my father Elrond that I will be down shortly, i must change my robes"

"Very well, lady Namariarwen, the council will be held in the courtyard by the fountain of Elbereth"

"Thank you Elennira" smiled Namariarwen as she hastily closed the fabulously sumptuous doors.

Namariarwen hastened to her wardrobe searching for something more delicate and feminine, something that would MAKE Aragorn notice her. Finally, she found it.

The robes were of a translucent silky material, a myriad of sea blues and greens that contrasted beautifully with Namariarwens Silvery gold hair and fabulous sparkling eyes. She regarded her reflection with apprehension before carefully fastening some Elanor flowers into her long rippling hair which looked like a fine net of spun gold and silver.
Finally she was pleased with the reflection before her and walked down to the courtyard, mindful of the lustful swoons from the young Elves and men that followed her every move.
