Christopher Lee not returnin to Middle Earth? |

Folks over at Cinematical found this interview from the much beloved Chris Lee:Meinich was the only one who asked Lee about his involvement in The Hobbit. Lee's answer came as quite a surprise -- first, he's adamant that he won't be appearing in The Hobbit, because as we all know, Saruman isn't in the book. This comes as no surprise -- Lee is a Tolkien purist (thank goodness!) and he won't allow himself to be shoehorned in, even if Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro were interested in doing so.
But what about the much discussed second film, which would likely deal with the Council of Wizards? That's a location problem. Lee isn't interested in filming in New Zealand again because it is simply too far away, for too long of a time. You ... [Read More]

McAvoy 'not yet' for Hobbit film. |

An actor denying being offered a rumoured role is nothing particularly newsworthy. Particularly as we are all smart enough to know that Del Toro means it when he says that nobody has been offered the role of Bilbo. However, reading between the lines can be fun. Del Toro when asked about McAvoy's rumoured casting of James McAvoy said 'not yet', now McAvoy has done the same:
Quote:
Scottish actor James McAvoy has denied reports he is to take the lead role in the new movie version of Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit.
J.R.R. Tolkien's novel is set to be turned into a major blockbuster under the direction of Guillermo del Toro and filming is due to begin in New Zealand later this year.
McAvoy was reportedly | ... [Read More]

|

But he insists it was filmmaker Peter Jackson's version of epic fantasy series The Lord of the Rings that helped him make his decision.
He says, "I remember when I heard they were making The Lord Of The Rings, I was like, 'God, if they cheese those out, I'm going to be so disappointed.'
"(But) those films were inspiring to me in terms of deciding to take The Incredible Hulk."
Though it doesnt mean anything, I would like to make some links of my own. Norton is a great actor (overrated, but great), Del Toro loves Comic Book films...like The Incredible Hulk. Norton rarely speaks out... [Read More]
